- NGNatasha GrahamJan 12, 20241.0I had a missed parcel from DPD so using their email with a scannable QR Code I took it to the post office in Dinnington. I arrived before 9 but was aware it didn’t open up until 9. The door wasn’t opened till 9.05 with no apology made. The lad who let me in had music blasting, drinking a cuppa which isn’t wrong in itself but he looked like he had been dragged out of bed and couldn’t be bothered with life let alone a customer. I had to ask him to turn the music down as I couldn’t hear myself speak. I showed him the QR code and he asked me for ID. The card left by DPD didn’t require one but I did offer a photo of my passport and driving licence as well as offering to show him a statement on my online banking which he refused. I called DPD to complain and asked why they didn’t tell me I needed ID and they said I didn’t. They called the post office but got no answer so emailed them to explain I could get the parcel and ID wasn’t necessary. To save another wasted journey I called the post office and he still refused to let me collect without ID. it’s a very important parcel containing someone’s loved one’s ashes. I don’t have ID on me today so am not able to provide this. To say I’m annoyed is an understatement. The staff need re trained
